April Smith Carpenter has been teaching group fitness since 1997. She is a certified group fitness instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), CPR certified, Tivity Health/Silver Sneakers certified. Fitness classes she teaches each week are chair yoga, cardio fit, cardio and core, muscle strength and range of motion, and line dancing.

She is a devoted daily journal writer, exercise enthusiast, a marching band/thespian mom (for two wonderful children), and writer and speaker on the fly. She has published articles in Memphis Parent Magazine, DeSoto Appeal, DeSoto Times Tribune, Parent Guide News, and Travelball.com. Two of her stories have appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul book series. She covers a wide variety of topics with focus on parenting, sports, women’s issues and all things Godly. Her upcoming eBook short Leaving a Godly Legacy, Journaling for Future Generations is due to be released in the fall of 2017.

April currently serves as President of the Byhalia Christian Writers (BCW) group and the director of the Mid-South Christian Writers Conference.

Her partner in crime, David works in Sales for Brother International, they have been married almost 17 years. April has a Bachelor of Communications from Lambuth and a Masters of Religion from Memphis Theological Seminary.
